LIBB ARTWORK

LET IT BE BEATLES ARTWORK

1995-1999

In the mid nineties I put up a Let It Be Beatles Website. A friend of mine Tony Ferguson set it up for me. Unfortunately he was the only person who could add content and as he lived miles away, the site was rarely updated and eventually disappeared. It did however contain details on the first 300 or show programs. I'll try and restore that information to this web site eventually. I did some Drawings for that site at the time. Some of which were used and some which were not.

I WANT TO TELL YOU

This drawing was the wallpaper for the original site and it was also used for the cover of edition 2 of the short lived LIBB fanzine "I Want To Tell You."

PANEL 1999

This drawing was used for various flyers and things. I extended the sides to add Gary when he joined the panel in 1999.

2009

Davey Lane asked me if I could do a series of drawings which he could use to illustrate certain segments of the program when he was putting the LIBB podcasts together.

OPENING

This first one was just purely to represent the opening of the program.

The characters are left to right: Gary, me, Gav, Greg and Dave.

APPLE SINGLES

Gary did a segment where he played the A and B sides of every Apple single. This drawing was done to represent that segment.

Blast From Your Past

Dave White did a segment where he went through every Ringo Starr album playing one track from each.

The character in the cartoon is a copy of Ringo from the King Features cartoon series. In the picture he is signing an autograph for Dave. The cartoon was done at the time Ringo announced he was no longer signing items for fans.

I CALL YOUR NAME

This segment put together by Gav highlighted songs from other artists which made a direct or indirect reference to the Beatles. Sometimes it's lyrically and other times it might be a borrowed riff.

KEEP UNDER COVER

This segment done by greg was a collection of unusual covers of

Paul McCartney solo songs.

FROM ME TO YOU-GO-SLAVIA

This segment which I do has been running for many years. In the early days it was hard to find foreign language covers of Beatles songs. As Stereo 974 is a multicultural station I asked many of the presenters if they had any. Some said they did, but none ever surfaced. With the growth of the internet they have become easily available and this has enabled this segment to become much more regular.

GOODNIGHT

Stating the bleeding obvious, this one represented the end of the show.
